Travel in Wrocław

ESE are pleased to offer transport passes to all registered ECE 2014 delegates after you have collected your ECE 2014 congress badge, this can be used as the travel ticket and is valid for the duration of the congress (NB badges can only be collected from the registration area at the congress centre).

Taxis are inexpensive in Wrocław

Please allow 30 minutes to travel to the Congress Centre by public transport, please also be considerate to busy 'rush hour' times.  


Getting to Wrocław

By air

The most convenient way is to fly to Wrocław. Copernicus Airport Wrocław is located at Skarżyńskiego Street 36, only 10 km from the city centre. Alternative airports in Poland include Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Lodz, Katowice, all within 4 hours of Wrocław and have connecting flights to Wroclaw.

From the airport, bus 406 operates from the terminal building to central Wrocław between 5am and 11pm every 20 minutes. There is also a night bus 249. The night bus will take approximately one hour to get to the city center (it will have a short break in the Jarnołtów district). Single-ride tickets from Wroclaw Airport to the city center cost 3.00 PLN (or 1.50 PLN for students or ISIC/EURO 26 Holders).

A taxi from the airport to the city centre will cost approximately 50PLN.

By rail

Poland's railway system is very reliable and recommended for travelling throughout Poland.

Wrocław is a major hub in the Polish rail network, with trains each day to all major Polish cities. Most connections are to Poznan, Warsaw and Krakow. Wrocław also offers international connections to Hamburg (via Berlin), Prague, Dresden, Kiev (via Lviv) and Budapest.

Wrocław's Main Train Station (Dworzec Głowny) is located south of town on Pilsudskiego Street.

Trains run regularly from Warsaw and Krakow.

Krakow: 4-5hrs on the train and approximately €20, train runs every 30 minutes.

Warsaw: 5-6hrs on the train and approximately €30, train runs every 4 hours.


By bus

Getting to Wrocław by bus is straight forward. Wrocław is a stop on the Eurolines international coach network. International and national buses stop at the PKS Centrum station which is located directly behind the main train station.
